SC moved to modify order on IIM fee
Legal Correspondent

New Delhi, March 10
Three petitioners, who had challenged Centre’s decision regarding the reduction in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) fee from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 30,000, today moved the Supreme Court seeking the modification of its order approving the government action.

The petitioners in their application urged the court to sought an undertaking from the Union Government that it would not interfere with the autonomy of the six business schools of the IIMs, instead of relying on a statement of its counsel in this regard, as recorded by it, while disposing of their public interest litigation (PIL) on the fee issue on February 27.
