Jogi episode rocks Parliament
New Delhi, December 8
The Ajit Jogi tape controversy today rocked Parliament resulting in nearly two hours’ adjournment of both Houses. The tempers ran high in the Rajya Sabha where the BJP and Congress members nearly came to blows in the pre-lunch session, leading to an unqualified apology by senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherji to Chairman Bhairon Singh in the afternoon.

The ‘anti-repression’ rally organised by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib here turned into a virtual anti-Amarinder rally with speakers venting ire at the Chief Minister for “putting” party President Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir in jail. The SAD announced that a ‘morcha’ would be launched by the party tomorrow to protest against this move.

The Supreme Court today directed the Special Court at Ropar to dispose of the bail petitions of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal in the disproportionate assets case tomorrow or as early as possible.
