Two Army officers injured in operation
Srinagar, November 19
The encounter between security forces and militants holed up inside a building, which began here last evening, continued till late this evening, leading to heavy damage to the building that rendered the Indira Nagar telephone exchange non-functional.

29 Biharis killed, curfew in Tinsukia
Guwahati, November 19
Spiralling violence killed 29 Biharis, including a three-year-old child who was hacked to death, and injured 40 while arson reduced 500 of their hutments to rubble as the Army was deployed today across Assam and indefinite curfew clamped in worst-hit Tinsukia district.

In a new development following a series of blasts in the state last night three, the Hmar People’s Convention (D), allegedly kidnapped the candidates of the Indian National Congress, the Mizo National Front and the Zoram Nationalist Party-Mizoram People’s Conference combine, contesting from the Suangpuilawn constituency, this afternoon at Phullen village, a day before Mizoram goes to the polls.
