Vigilance to plead for Badal’s custody
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, November 19
In the wake of the release of certain documents pertaining to investigations in the disproportionate assets case by Mr Parkash Singh Badal at a press conference yesterday, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau is likely to plead before the court that to ensure fair investigations the former may be sent to judicial custody.

A senior officer on the condition of anonymity said today that they would tell the court that Mr Badal was trying to sabotage and influence investigations by resorting to such tactics.

The officer admitted that the documents released by Mr Badal were part of the challan to be filed against them and that an inquiry has been ordered to probe into who leaked them. The challan is ready and is being fine-tuned by legal experts, he said, adding that it was likely to be presented soon.
