Weather was mainly dry over the region.
Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.0°C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan). Minimum temperatures fell in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Depatrures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.2°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 22: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
