IN FOCUS
The state of medical institutions

The Tribune recently carried out a survey of the state of universities in the region. Altogether 12 universities — five in Punjab, four in Haryana and three in Himachal Pradesh — were covered by our senior staffers.

The close look at the functioning of these universities evoked an enthusiastic response from students, parents, teachers and other senior members of the faculty.

We have now decided to study in what state are medical colleges and institutions in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Under scrutiny will be the following :

Chandigarh

1. Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

2. Government Medical College and Hospital.

Punjab

1. Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences & Medical College, Faridkot.

2. Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana

3. Christian Medical College, Ludhiana

4. Medical College and Dental College, Amritsar

5. Rajendra College and Hospital, Patiala.

6. NIPER — National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali

Haryana

2. Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha

Himachal Pradesh
