Following the seizure of a large cache of arms and ammunition and killing of two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants in Nizamuddin Millennium Park, by sleuths from the Delhi Police Special Cell and arrest of three militants from here yesterday and two from Sikandrabad in Uttar Pradesh today, the Delhi Police has claimed to have averted major strike in the Capital.

Secretary tampered with Taj files, says  CBI

Steep hike in prices of petrol, diesel

In one of the steepest hike in one go, national oil companies today increased petrol and diesel prices by up to Rs 2.28 and Rs 1.49 per litre, respectively, saying that it was in line with the global market.

In a goodwill gesture aimed at improving the bilateral relations between the neighbours, Pakistan will release tomorrow 269 Indian fishermen, arrested for illegal entry into its territory, while 16 Sikh youths would be released on September 6.
