Bus Immediately after the incident, some officials posted at the nearby police first aid picket reached the spot. Though Samra had slight injuries in his forehead, none of passengers was hurt in the accident. An altercation took place between the bus driver and Samra in the presence of police officials. Mr Samra asserted that he was a CBI officer and was returning from Jalandhar where he had gone to conduct a probe. “He said he was in a hurry as he had to reach the Punjab and Haryana High Court in connection with some case. He urged the first aid officials to make some arrangement so that he could reach there in time,” maintained a police official requesting anonymity. The police officials led by Head Constable Nanak Singh politely told him that their jurisdiction was not upto Chandigarh. But they agreed to leave him at the Ropar bus stand. He was left at the Ropar bus stand from where he reportedly hired a taxi. “The person who claimed that he was a CBI officer Gurvinder Singh explained that his vehicle hit the bus as he was feeling a bit dizzy,” said a police official. |
