Pak will keep away from terror, hopes Sinha

London, October 12
India has hoped “good sense will prevail” on Pakistan and it will eschew sponsoring cross-border terrorism to pave the way for a concrete Indo-Pak dialogue on all outstanding issues.

“After the successful Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and the general elections in Pakistan, in whatever manner they were conducted by President Pervez Musharraf, there is reason for opening a few doors and a few windows for the future of the sub-continent”, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha told the Indian and British media at a function here yesterday night. Jethmalani favours talks with ultras

Kashmir Committee Chairman Ram Jethmalani has impressed upon Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to open a dialogue with militants and separatists and advocated that the new government in Jammu and Kashmir should announce general amnesty for those who surrendered.

Commenting on the fractured verdict in the four-phase Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir here today, Mr Jethmalani said the repressive and undemocratic laws should be repealed.
