Militants attack school
Teacher, student gunned down
Jammu/Srinagar, September 19
A teacher and a student were gunned down when militants barged into a school at Jamala village in Mahore tehsil of Udhampur district this morning. The police said that the teacher, Deep Chand, and the Class X student, Piyara Singh, died on the spot.

Cauvery's flow to TN suspended

In the backdrop of mounting Cauvery agitation, in the southern districts of the state following drowning of a panchayat member in Kapila river on Wednesday, the ruling Congress government in the state, today decided to suspend the release of Cauvery waters to Tamil Nadu.
