Man jumps into boiling rice
Ajmer, September 16
In a bizarre incident, a 37-year-old man jumped into a cauldron of boiling rice at Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti’s dargah to fulfil his father’s “mannat” (wish), the police said on Monday. Zayreen Moinuddin, who suffered severe burn injuries on Sunday, died at JLN Hospital here. According to a statement given to the police prior to his death, Moinuddin said he sacrificed his life for his father, a farm labourer at Mainapura village of Andhra Pradesh, who wanted him to jump into the cauldron to please Khwaja Sahib.
