Fire breaks out in South Delhi
New Delhi, March 17
A “medium” fire broke out in some tents in South Delhi where a sale was on, a fire brigade spokesman said. He said the fire broke out at 1.55 pm today and 24 fire tenders were rushed to douse the flames. Earlier, the fire brigade spokesman had said the fire had taken place at the godown of Asia’s largest saree store, CTC Plaza. PTI

Curfew relaxed
Bangalore, March 17
Curfew was relaxed today at the communally-sensitive J.J. Nagar locality here, the scene of clashes between two groups which left five civilians and three policemen injured yesterday. PTI

Personal staff of VC questioned
Patiala, March 17
The Patiala police today picked up the personal staff of the Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor, Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, for interrogation besides conducting raids at several places, including Delhi, to find out the whereabouts of the Vice-Chancellor.
