Family wiped out over adultery Bathinda, June 18 Raj Kumar Sharma (40), who was working as a medical representative, allegedly strangled his wife Vandana (35) late last night after beating her and giving her poison. He also killed his two kids, Deepali (7) and Garish (5). Police sources said the deceased had a quarrel last night with his wife over some matter. He mixed some poison with eatables and gave the same to his wife and kids. The kids became unconscious but his wife put up resistance and they had a physical fight due to which his wife suffered minor injuries. After overpowering his wife the culprit strangled her to death with her dupatta. The kids also suffered the same fate at the hands of the culprit. After murdering the three the man hanged himself to death from the ceiling fan, the sources added. The sources said the murders had been committed by the culprit as he was reportedly fed up of the alleged illicit relations of his wife. The wife of the culprit had illicit relations with the husband of her sister, who is a partner with a finance company at Jalandhar. The deceased had reportedly brought the matter to the notice of his in-laws who did not offer any help. The deceased was undergoing severe mental tension and took the extreme step late last night, the sources said. Police sources said the deceased had mentioned in his suicide note that he was under tension due to the illicit relations of his wife and was killing his kids because he did not want them to become orphans. The sources added that the parents of Raj Kumar were also living with the family but had moved to the place of a relative a few days ago. Unwelcome scenes were created at his residence regularly and the kids were scared, the sources added. The deceased had called up his elder brother on Sunday and had asked him to collect an urgent letter. When his brother called at the house of Raj Kumar he found his body hanging from the ceiling fan, the sources said. The district police chief, Mr Jatinder Jain, said a case under Sections 306 and 34 of the IPC had been registered against the brother-in-law of the deceased. The bodies had been sent for a post-mortem examination, the police chief added. |
