Ex-minister, others granted bail Narnaul, May 21 According to the FIR registered against the accused, the complainant Sanwal Ram had alleged in a complaint to the Area Magistrate that one Matadin was the owner of agricultural land measuring 112 kanals 5 marlas in Amerpura village. In April, 1973, Matadin died issueless and his two sisters Gindori and Mahadevi had predeceased him. So, Babu Lal, son of Gindori, and Mahadevi’s daughter Santra inherited his land. On May 26, 1973, Babu Lal filed a suit, claiming himself to be the only legal heir of Matadin. The two parties arrived at a compromise in that civil suit. Babu Lal was declared owner of 56 kanals and 2 marlas of land. Santra sold her share to the complainant and others vide sale deed dated October 4, 1973, for Rs 22,000/-. The allegation of the complainant is that in order to grab the land, Radhey Shyam and Kailash got prepared a fake will dated April 3, 1973 of Matadin in favour of their uncle Jamni Sahai. On the basis of will, Jamni Sahai instituted a civil suit claiming his title over the land. On October 10, 1973, Jamni Sahai got the said decree nullified. The suit was instituted against Babu Lal alone. Somebody allegedly impersonating as Babu Lal went to court and said Jamni Sahai obtained decree of entire land in his favour. Mutation on the basis of that decree was also sanctioned. On October 9, 1973, Babu Lal instituted a civil suit against Jamni Sahai and others. It was decided on November 11, 1998. The will relied upon by Jamni Sahai was held forged. Jamni Sahai was found having no right in the land of Matadin. Feeling aggrieved, Jamni Sahai had filed an appeal before the District Sessions Judge. During pendency of the case, a compromise was submitted and the case was decided accordingly. Regular second appeal against the order of the District Judge is pending before the high court. During the pendency of the appeal, Babu Lal has executed a released deed of the land in favour of Shyam Sunder, Radhey Shyam and Kailash, petitioners, without having any right in the land. The Magistrate forwarded this complaint to the SHO concerned for registration of a case and investigation. Apprehending their arrest, they have applied for a pre-arrest bail. Mr R.K. Mehta, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that a false complaint on the basis of wrong facts has been instituted only as a counter blast to a case registered against the complainant and 14 other persons under Sections 148/447/342/506/395 read with Section 149 of IPC in which charge against them has already been framed. It was also submitted that the said compromise was between Babu Lal and Jamni Sahai. The remaining petitioners Shyam Sunder, Radhey Shyam and Kailash had no role in that compromise. It was also contended that moreover the matter is still yet to be decided. The Judge, Mr S.K. Gupta, observed that since the forgery charge is yet to be decided, the petitioners be released on bail. |
DCC leader joins Paswan’s party Rohtak, May 21 Mr Bhagat Singh said today he was resigning from the Congress as it had become the ‘property’ of certain families and had no concern for the problems being confronted by the ordinary workers, small and marginal farmers, Dalits and the petty shopkeepers. Meanwhile, the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee has described the turnnot at its ‘lalkar rally’ at Panipat yesterday as a vote of no-confidence against the Om Prakash Chautala government and demanded its resignation. Party spokesman Pardeep Punia said the ‘massive’ attendance at the rally had proved that Mr Chautala had lost confidence of the people and as such he had no moral right to continue in office. The Congress spokesman said after ‘losing’ people’s confidence in Haryana, the Chief Minister, Mr Om Parkash Chautala, was searching political ground in other states like UP and Rajasthan. He cautioned the people of neighbouring states against falling a prey to the ‘false’ promises of Mr Chautala. The DCC (Rural) chief, Prof Virender, said after the death of Rajiv Gandhi, the country had become ‘leaderless’. He paid glowing tributes to the latter on his 11th death anniversary here today. He thanked the people for making the ‘lalkar rally’ a success and hoped that they would actively participate in making the agitation programme announced by Hooda also a success. |

HVPN decision arbitrary: CPM Rohtak, May 21 The party, in a statement, has alleged that following privatisation and liberalisation, all government department are resorting to ‘blind loot’ of consumers. The party has said the HVPN decisions on fixing powerload and replacement of meters smacks of highhandness. Because of “arbitrary” decisions and “anti-consumer” policies, the HVPN employees in the field are facing the wrath of the people. Describing the policy of charging consumers for replaced meters as totally unjustifiable, the CPM state secretary, Mr Inderjit Singh, has asked the HVPN to explain the logic behind replacement of meters found functioning properly during statewide checking launched by the HVPN a few months ago. The
CPM has described the decision of Bharat Sanchar Nigam to charge five months’ cumulative rent from telephone consumers as entirely “improper”. |
