Falerio sworn in Goa CM
PANAJI, Nov 26 (PTI)
On a day of fast-paced developments, Mr Luizinho
Falerio, was tonight sworn in as the Chief Minister of
Goa bringing the Congress back to power after the Wilfred
D'Souza ministry resigned hours ahead of a trust vote.
Fortyseven-year-old
Faleiro, leader of the Congress Legislature Party, was
administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor J
F R Jacob as the head of a two-member ministry which
includes Mr Dayanand Narvekar, who will be the Deputy
Chief Minister.
Mr Narvekar, along with
three other MLAs, defected from Mr D'Souzas Goa
Rajiv Congress and joined the Congress.
Earlier, the high-pitched
political drama began after midnight when Mr D'Souza
handed over the resignation letter of his ministry to the
Governor at 1.30 p.m. after his plea against advancing
the Legislature session for a trial of strength from
December 2 was turned down.
