Joint security review of Vaishno Devi shrine held

A joint security review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine was conducted by J&K Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other agencies.
The review was conducted by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Udhampur-Reasi range, Rayees Mohammad Bhat. SSP Security, Jammu, Shamsheer Hussain; SSP CID Arun Gupta; Commanding Officer, 6 Battalion, CRPF, Yad Ram Bunker; Assistant Director, Intelligence Bureau, Rajesh Dogra; among other officials participated in the meeting.
The team had a full tour of both the tracks including New Tarakote Route and Old Banganga Track, wherein all the security establishments enroute were visited and necessary points of concern were discussed with all the agencies present during the security review meet.
The team visited all the farthest deployment points beyond Bhawan sanctorum, Bhairon Mandir Post, Sanjhichat, Ardhkuwari and Banganga.
“Necessary observations regarding replacement of certain security apparatus, installation of metal detectors, relocation of security check posts to make it more relevant as per today’s need, technological intervention as a force multiplier, augmentation of manpower of SDRF, security wing along with other forces was discussed as well,” an official informed.
The official further informed that all the participants came up with relevant suggestions for making pilgrims and pilgrimage more secure, be it from the point of view of track modifications, upgraded surveillance system including geo-tagging, FRS system, alarm facilities vis-a-vis fire or natural calamities.
