Another ASI commits suicide

An ASI of the police, Nirmal Singh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a house on the Daba road this morning. He was transferred here from Tarn Taran district a few months ago. He was residing in a rented accommodation on the Daba road while his family lives at his native village.
Nothing Swachh about Sidhwan Canal

Cops in Saharanpur to trace missing student
Ludhiana, November 10
The attempt of the police and the parents of a 16-year-old student, who went missing on October 21, proved futile as the person, who called up the parents from Saharanpur, switched off the mobile when the police reached there.
Body found in canal
Ludhiana, November 10
The city police today took out an unidentified body from Sidhwan Canal in the Shimlapuri area here today. According to the police, the victim was around 24 year old. The police did not found and identification card or document on the body.

GLADA fetches Rs 7.21 crore at auction
Ludhiana, November 10
The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) today sold a free-hold nursing home site in Sector 39 A, Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road, for Rs 7.21 crore. The prime land with an area of 1.02 acre and a reserve price tag of Rs 4,93,68,000 yielded a premium of nearly 46 per cent.

Probe marked against ASI

The Jagraon police have initiated an inquiry against an ASI deployed at the Jagraon city police station for failing to act in a theft case reported a few days ago.
Some unidentified persons broke into a house of Subhash Chander Bhandari in the Old Grain Market area here on the night of October 30 and decamped with goods worth thousands of rupees.
