The Ludhiana Sikh Migrants Welfare Board has hailed the announcement of Rs 5 lakh compensation for victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The board, however, has termed the NDA government’s decision to pay the relief to just 3,325 families, against a total number exceeding 10,000, discriminatory.

Five test positive for dengue
Five more patients tested positive for dengue belonging in Ludhiana. A woman (27) from Prem Vihar and four men from Ranjodh Park, PAU, Model Town Extension and Rajesh Nagar resepectively are under treatment at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. The number of dengue patients diagnosed has gone up to 130, of which 92 belong to Ludhiana.
