Chautala surrenders, blames Centre
New Delhi, October 11
INLD supremo and former Chief Minister of Haryana Om Prakash Chautala surrendered before the Tihar jail authorities late this evening. Chautala, who is serving a 10-year jail term in the JBT recruitment scam, was granted bail on medical grounds.

In Punjab, rewards elude CWG medallists

Punjab players are feeling cheated. Sportspersons from the state are yet to receive their share of accolades (prize money) announced by the state government after they won medals at the Commonwealth and Asian Games this year. In a contrast, the Haryana Government has already given away the entire prize money of Rs 13.75 crore to all its CWG medal winners.

Pak guns boom again in Jammu
Jammu/Poonch, October 11
After a brief lull, Pakistan today violated ceasefire twice along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Jammu districts, drawing strong retaliation from India. “Around 1.15 pm today, Pakistani troops opened automatic weapons fire and also rained mortars on six Indian posts in Shahpur and Kerni sub-sectors along the LoC in Poonch,” said an intelligence source.
