Robbers strike at shop
Ludhiana, August 26
Six robbers, who were posing as customers, struck at a jewellery shop in the Giaspura area and looted 5 kg of silver and 100 grams of gold jewellery late last evening. The robbers injured the shopkeeper with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot.

A 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped from a colony located near Golden Temple in Amritsar by a middle-aged man four years ago, has become a victim of police apathy.

Man strangles wife

A man killed his wife by strangulating her on Tuesday morning. They got married eight months ago. The deceased was identified as Harpreet Kaur (24) of Bahadhurwala village near Sahnewal while the accused was identified as Surjit Singh, a resident of Moga. The accused fled from the spot after the incident.
