Striking JEs get
leave of kind due: The Haryana Government has decided that the strike period between February 11 and 28, 2014, of junior engineers (JEs) of the Engineering Department, public sector undertakings, boards and corporations will be considered as leave of kind due. Stating this, an official spokesman said the government had also decided to regularise the strike period from January 25 to 27, 2011,
of drivers serving in various government departments, boards and corporations
as leave of kind due and no punishable action would be taken against them. Four Service panel
members to be named: The Haryana Government has now decided to fill all four posts of Commissioner in the Haryana Right to Service Commission instead of advertised two posts. An official spokesman said persons of eminence having the requisite qualifications and fulfilling criteria for appointment as Commissioner should send their particulars in the prescribed proforma to the Secretary to Haryana Administrative Reforms Department in room No. 525, 5th Floor, New Civil Secretariat Building, Chandigarh, on any working day by July 7 up to 5 pm. Loan recovery
from NPS corpus: The state government has decided that recovery of any outstanding loan amount could be made from the lump sum to be received by the employee on retirement from the corpus related to National Pension System (NPS). An official spokesman said a letter to this effect had been issued by the Finance Department. He said since the employees' final documents were sent to the National Securities Depository Limited through theDDO so he could issue necessary instructions
to NSDL if any recovery was to be made. Kaithal
Lineman held for
duping man of Rs 27 lakh: The police CIA branch has arrested a lineman of the UHBVN on the charge of duping a retired junior engineer (JE) of ~27 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs to his relatives. The police today produced the accused, Sanjay Kumar, of Rajasthan in court that remanded him in police custody till July 1. Mange Ram, a retired JE, lodged a complaint that Kumar assured him of providing jobs to his relatives in the Haryana Government. Ram had sought lineman's help to get a job of a clerk in Kurukshetra University for
his daughter-in-law, plumber in the Marketing Board for his son-in-law, and a lecturer and
a peon in the high court for his other relatives. For this, Ram gave ~27 lakh to Kumar. Since Kumar failed to get the
jobs, Ram asked him to return the money. The lineman refused and threatened him of
dire consequences.

Kanda announces office-bearers of HLP: Lokhit Party (HLP) president Gopal Kanda announced the office-bearers of his political outfit here today. He named his younger brother Gobind Kanda as party senior vice-president. Jai Singh Bishnoi, a former member of the Haryana Backward Classes Commission and Haryana Services Selection Commission, has been named vice-president and assigned the charge of strengthening the party in Hisar, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Jind districts. Ashok Buwaniwala, a former media coordinator of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be vice-president, with charge of Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Gurgaon and Rewari districts. Umesh Sharma, another vice-president, will look after Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal and Yamunanagar districts.
Two motorcyclists crushed to death: Two youths were killed on the spot when their motorcycle was hit by an Army truck near Sawantkhera village of Sirsa this evening. Jabarjang and Roopinder, residents of Pakka Kalan of Bathinda district in Punjab, riding a motorcycle were crushed to death under the Army vehicle. The police have booked the driver.

Soldier found dead in Akhnoor: A soldier was found dead inside his unit in the Akhnoor area of Jammu yesterday. Soldier Pathan Mohammed Sharif Khan of the 18 Cavalry under the 10 Infantry Division was found dead in his unit lines around 2.15 pm yesterday, a Defence spokesperson said. He belonged to
Ahmedabad.
