Insurance cover of firemen to be discussed in MC meet
Chandigarh, June 22
Taking note of the long-pending demand of firemen for providing them insurance cover after two firemen lost their lives following a building collapse while they were dousing fire at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology
(NIELIT) building in Sector 17, the Municipal Corporation (MC) will finally discuss the issue during the General House meeting. The MC has proposed an insurance cover of Rs 20 lakh in case of death while fighting fire and Rs 10 lakh in case of 75 per cent disability.

Two community centres to get facelift
