PUDA sells five commercial sites for Rs 1.08 crore

Ludhiana, June 9
The Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) sold five commercial sites for shops in pocket I and II of the Old Jail Road scheme for Rs 1.08 crore through a public auction today. The shop sites were sold at a premium of some 28 per cent over their reserve price of Rs 84
lakh.

Notices to 25 defaulters
Ludhiana, June 9
Waking from a deep slumber, the Municipal Corporation today served notices on 25 defaulters in F-Block of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar. They have “illegally” converted their shop-cum-flats into larger commercial establishments.
Woman’s purse snatched
Ludhiana, June 9
A motorcycle-borne youth snatched a purse containing Rs 5,000, medicine and a mobile phone from a woman.
The complainant, Harpreet Kaur of Maya Nagar, said the incident took place at Guru Tegh Badahur Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Five child labourers rescued

Child Labour Task Force rescued five child labourers from a factory here today. Mohit Singla, Assistant Director (Factories), Labour Department, said: “The Labour Department is celebrating Child Labour Week from June 9 to 15.
Dana Mandi godown destroyed in fire
Ludhiana, June 9
A fire broke out at a godown near Dana Mandi on the Jalandhar bypass this afternoon. Four fire brigades put out the fire in about two and a half hours. A short-circuit was cited as the reason of the fire.

First revenue lok adalat held

The District Administration organised the first Revenue Lok Adalat at Sehora village near here and resolved 320 cases concerned with two Kangoyee segments.
