MC to provide anti-rabies serum at dispensary for Rs 50

Facing the ire of city residents for failing to provide anti-rabies serum at the civil dispensary in Sector 19, the municipal corporation (MC) has decided to purchase the serum for one year. It has also decided that the serum, which is available in the market for Rs 850, will be available to the residents at a subsidised rate of Rs 50 per vaccine.

Despite being solely dependent on the PGIMER for incinerating (destroying) the hazardous biomedical waste generated every day, both Panjab University and the GMCH-32 have failed to pay the cost of incineration to the PGIMER that has risen to Rs 20.27 lakh in the past three years.
Illegal structures demolished in Zirakpur

Drama at hostel as girl accuses mess worker of molesting her

High drama was witnessed in the girls hostel located in Sector 24 here this afternoon after one of the occupants accused a mess worker of molestation.
The girl complained that the mess worker misbehaved with her on the hostel premises last night. However, no complaint was lodged either with the Social Welfare Department, which owns the hostel, or the police.
