No time for throwing parties!
The president of the Sutlej Club, DC Rajat Aggarwal did a smart move by announcing the club's elections within a very short period. He did not give ample time to the contestants, their supporters to throw lavish parties, indulging in petty politics and mud-slinging. The members had not even thought that elections will be announced immediately once Lok Sabha election results declared. In fact, majority of the contestants were not geared-up for the contest. They virtually got 3-4 days' time to do the leg-work, reach out to members to support them. One of the old members of the club said, "These elections were held in most decent manner in past several years. Had these contestants been given time or opportunity, lakhs of rupees could have been wasted on organising parties to woo members. Besides, there is not much mud-slinging."
