2 booked in rape case: A 15-year-old girl in Tanda area was allegedly raped by two youths of Miani village. The victim alleged Ranjit Singh of Bhatnoora village in Bholath and Boota Singh of Talwandi Sallan in Tanda took her to an unknown place and raped her. They later dropped her near her village. A case has been registered.Granthi stabbed to death:
A retired subedar working as a granthi of a gurdwara in Thakkar village was stabbed to death by a youth. The accused, Dharminder Singh of Manga village, has been arrested. He allegedly killed Santokh Singh as the latter was trying to “interfere” in his dispute with his wife.
2 motorcyclists killed:
Two bikers died near Mukerian as a branch of a roadside tree fell on their motorcycle. The victims, Nirmal Singh of Jatt Bareya village and Parasram of Tung village in Gurdaspur, were on their way to Jugial village. Their bodies were handed over to their families after a postmortem.

4 booked in suicide case: The police have booked a former granthi of Hadiabad town, Didar Singh, his wife Kulwant Kaur and sons Gurwinder Singh and Parminder Singh on the charges of abetment to suicide. The victim, SAD leader Buta Singh, in a suicide note, had alleged the accused had been harassing him as he failed to repay Rs 15 lakh loan taken from them.
