The UT Social Welfare Department today shifted all 13 complainants in the Sector 15 Bal Niketan sexual harassment case to Snehalaya for security reasons after directions from the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR).

DC orders FIR against Estate Office staff

UT Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer has ordered the registration of an FIR against officials of the building branch of the UT Estate Office in connection with major building violations in certain properties in the city.
RLA to increase limit of tokens
Chandigarh, April 23
With a large number of visitors arriving at the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) office in Sector 17, the authorities have decided to increase the limit of tokens from the present 200 to cater to more number of visitors. These visitors stand in long queues for registration of vehicles, renewal of RC, duplicate RC, HSRP number plates and other services.
Cops, accident victim injured as PCR van overturns
Chandigarh, April 23
A police control room (PCR) vehicle returning from an accident spot turned turtle at the road dividing Sectors 16 and17 dividing near the traffic intersection this morning.
Three Chandigarh police personnel were injured in the accident. The PCR vehicle was ferrying an accident victim to the PGI when the mishap occurred.
MC serves show-cause notice on Railways
