Poll campaign: Panel keeps a close eye on items being used by candidates

The Rate Fixation Committee, constituted to keep an eye on items being used by the Lok Sabha candidates while campaigning, has sent a proposal to the Deputy Commissioner to fix the price of around two dozen such items.
The committee has already fixed rates of 28 items being used by the candidates. With the change in weather, the committee is now focusing on items that come handy in summers besides other items not included till now.

Three persons come in contact with high-tension electricity wires

Three persons came in contact with high-tension electricity wires while putting up a hoarding near Arora Cinema today.
The injured have been identified as Vijay Kumar, Pinka and Jatinder Kumar. Pinka's condition was stated to be critical as he has suffered more than 80 per cent of burns.

Thieves strike at shop

Thieves stole silver ornaments worth Rs 70,000 from a jewellery shop at Bazar Sarafan. In the morning, an area resident informed the jeweller, Lokesh Khanna, about the incident, who further called the police.
Brother-in-law held for woman’s murder
