Renowned artist Jagannath Panda’s multi-layered works not only tell multiple stories, but also reflect how many Indias are constantly negotiating with each other

He may not be blessed with the gift of the gab, his slide lecture show organised by the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademy at the Government Museum auditorium on Monday evening may not have held one and all in rapt attention. But none of this could take away the astounding quality of renowned artist Jagannath Panda’s works as their allure and beauty, even through slides, was powerful enough to engage you for over an hour-and-a-half, leaving you awestruck.

While Panda’s artistic prowess exhibited in museums around the world bears no reiteration, he also proves in more than one way how an artist is as much a product of his environment as of his roots. Hailing from Orissa, growing up in an Oriya family, Panda himself admits how his style changed when art scholarships took him first to Japan and later to London. Apart from a whole new expanse of art opening out he also discovered new mediums. In London, it was a dissertation that made him deconstruct fabric. Today textiles are an integral part of most of his oeuvre. So if one moment he uses brocade in canvas lending his paintings a three-dimensional effect, at yet another he clothes goats in the many textures of textiles. And for the extra animated zing in his animal sculptures, he borrows the eyes of stuffed toys.

Finding solutions: As Jagannath Panda coalesces two diametrically opposite cultures, he is certainly concerned about the dominant culture marginalising others. However, the idea, he insists is not to generate conflict. Without being judgmental he views himself as a participant, witness and a spectator. Art he believes is part of the solution and an artist a catalyst for change. Only in India he feels we tend to undermine the power of culture. He presses for institutional changes.

How he loves to experiment with different materials “each material has a life of its own and each material will talk to you” and expresses his creativity in paintings as well as sculptures. Paintings, which he creates in many layers and with a painstaking detail, he likens to a meditative process and sculptures he finds more tangible and material. Either way he impregnates his creations with theatricality. In Japan a theatre group even expressed a desire to create a performance around his work. Juxtaposing two different worlds, living in Gurgaon his surroundings and the contradictions inherent in the city of hopes and dreams fire his imagination.

As mythological figures, Gurgaon’s skyscrapers, animals and people come together in his riveting works, he seems to be constantly questioning how the growth of a new millennium city like Gurgaon is affecting others especially animals. Raising pertinent issues that spawn from development his imagery is at once arresting, aesthetic and brings alive different Indias that we inhabit at this point in history. How does space research effect lesser mortals, what is the fate of men and women who build cities yet have no stake in its development, what new utopias mean… these nibbling queries gnaw his artistic consciousness and reach out to the viewer.

Having relocated himself; migration recurs as frequently in his works as how animals negotiate with the new emerging urbanscapes. In a wondrous work tiger becomes a metaphor not only referring to the vanishing species but also symbolising power and how India is perceived as a tiger economy. A trip to Kaziranga sanctuary brings him face to face with the gigantic Rhinoceros who then find form in yet another series. Nouveau rich and their ostentatious lifestyle may not manifest directly but the dynamics of its relationship with nature does.

Myths transform and acquire new meaning in his vocabulary, which invariably straddles the twin world of reality and imagination. In the process, he creates a distinctive style that is as individualistic as remarkably unique. Often he revisits his earlier works and finds new starting points. The Cults of Serendipity is not merely a name of one of his series in his artistic journey chance discoveries have played as important a role as sagacity. Only with his studio serving up as a constant laboratory, the more he discovers, the more he is consumed by the desire to explore further. Many more miles to go.

Meera Chopra is all set to walk the ramp as the showstopper in the upcoming Chandigarh Style Week

Raring to go: Meera Chopra

When fashion makes business sense, it’s an opportunity for everybody to jump in — the sponsors, co-hosts, venue partners et al. However, Kingfisher Ultra Chandigarh Style Week promises three days of glamour where celebration of fashion is as much on the radar as brand building, even though local fashion hardly figures on the list.

“We will be showcasing ten male models, among which two will be turbaned models. Apart from that, maximum showstoppers will be from Chandigarh too,” Gaurav Sharma, from the organising Storm Fashion Company, gives a lowdown on localisation of the event. The collections too will be customised to cater to the Punjab market. “It will be all bridal. There will be no bikinis, no resort collections…there will be 40 fashion models, eight showcasing designers and 10-12 celebrities walking as showstoppers or making appearances.”

As promised, Aslam Khan did not turn up and Ludhiana-based Sonu Gandhi turned up a tad too late. Nevertheless, they claim to make up in the days to come with names like Rocky S and Jatin Kochhar, among others. Essentially a couture designer, Sonu Gandhi, chose to exhibit prêt at the event. “My collection has 32 pieces and will be titled Dawn to Dusk. It’s a prêt line with lots of semi-formal outfits comprising gowns, jumpsuits, palazzos in pastel shades.”

While the showstopper is a surprise, joining them is the face of the event Meera Chopra, actress of South Indian films, who recently ventured into Bollywood with Gang Of Ghosts and thought this was the perfect opportunity to enter the North. “The funny thing is that despite being a true Punjabi, I’m doing this for the first time in the region. Down in my heart, I’ve always wanted to do something up in the North and within my people.” So this is it, the girl gets to walk the ramp as the showstopper for a fashion event held in the capital of Punjab. Among the Indian designers, “I like Rocky S, quite a lot. Then there’s Manish Malhotra who creates magic with clothes. Among the younger lot, Masaba Gupta is quite promising.” While she drops the name of designers with effortless ease, there is no personal interest in fashion. “Given the profession we are in, we have to put on a lot of make up and be made up. So, personally I put comfort before anything else. I am not fashion conscious at all as I pick up anything and wear it.”

The upcoming four Bollywood projects notwithstanding, it’s still a phase of the career where she probably entertains more queries on cousins Parineeti and Priyanka Chopra than herself. Between the two, she tags Priyanka the clear winner on the fashion front. “I think that everybody knows that Priyanka is the more fashionable.” No amount of nudging will elicit a style advice for cousin Parineeti. “Whatever it is, she’ll learn with time.” Only time will tell.

Upcoming Punjabi movie Police in Pollywood, like always, promises a situational comedy that is different

An ensemble cast, comic plot, a revered singer on board, a popular import from the television industry…announcement of a Punjabi film is quite the same, almost every week. Police in Pollywood begins on the same note, but the director Sunita promises that the end result would be different! "The film is a situational comedy. A few policemen get caught in an untoward situation and to break free, use filmy strategies."

This is Sunita's debut directorial venture for the big screen, although she has to her credit several plays and even television serials. "But the responsibility is bigger now. I have to ensure that the film is commercially viable, that actors get paid…that they grow with this film." Another challenge for her is bringing out the actor in the singer, Sardool Sikandar, who has also sung a track for the film.

The story of the film has been written by one of Sunita's students, which she decided upon after reading five scripts. "I was very conscious while finalising the script, given the quality that is being presented to the audience," says Sunita, who along with the cast of the film announced the film on Tuesday in Chandigarh.

Now & then

He is one of Punjab's most celebrated artistes and Sardool, aware of the fact, took his own sweet time before accepting the film. "I have been flooded with offers. Minus any exaggeration, I have rejected at least 15 films because they didn't fall in sync with the image I enjoy in my motherland," says Sardool. He adds that he couldn't have got a better role to make a comeback. "I can't be chasing women or dancing around trees at this age."

Singers in the industry have always found a calling in films, for Sardool too it is a natural progression. "Provided that doesn't affect the prime talent." On second thoughts, he readily accepts that the Punjabi music industry is not doing as well. "It's amusing and annoying when people ask me to recommend singers who can act because that has become more important." As for entering politics, he says, it's not meant for him. "For that you need to be a bit of a politician in your daily life as well."

Screen shot

The film casts Anuj Sachdev, Mani Kapoor, Raj Brar, Bhagwant Mann and Sardool Sikander in roles that matter. Anuj and Mani are both one film old. Post the shooting of the film, Anuj will move to Mumbai to shoot for his Bollywood venture Hawa Hawai. The music director of the film is Jaidev Kumar.

Chatter box
A thrilling ride

Crime and thriller genre is the flavour of the season on television these days. With many shows touching upon the topic, we take a look at some of the well-done crime thrillers running successfully on TV...

Paanch

Paanch - 5 wrongs make a right, revolves around Roshni who enters to right some wrongs. To avenge a deep wound from the past, the accidental death of her sister - she transforms herself into someone she isn't: unforgiving and brutal.

Ishq Kills

Star Plus's Ishq Kills, hosted by Vikram Bhatt is based on true events. It focuses on unusual love stories that dared to go beyond the traditional norms of society were faced with an awful end of 'Happily Never After'!

Bani Ishq Da Kalma

Inspired from the film Khoon Bhari Maang, the story currently has the protagonist Bani pretending to be an actress Maya who is helping out the villain husband Parmeet cover up Bani's murder.

Main Na Bhoolungi

Yet another inspiration from Khoon Bhari Maang, Aishwarya Sakuja who is plays the wronged woman Shikha Gupta wants revenge from her husband who tried to murder her and then stole away her son.

Ek Hasina Thi

This one too takes a leaf from Khoon Bhari Maang but apparently instead of the same actor returning in a new look for revenge, there will be two actors to confuse the audience.

All work, no fun

Karan Patel seen in Ye Hai Mohabbatein has been working really hard. He has no time to go home and rest. So, the makers have made sleeping arrangements on the sets for him. Once, he had to shoot for two days at a stretch so he slept in his vanity room in the studio and shot for his scenes the next day.

Big birthday present

Kapil Sharma couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift. He will have none other than the mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of his comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil on April 2 on his birthday.

Difficult to handle

Vikas Mantala, who plays the lead opposite Aishwaraya Sakuja in Main Na Bhuloongi, has been reportedly creating trouble on the sets. The actor who has an image of being difficult doesn't get along with Aishwarya or his other co-star Nigaar Khan.

Spiritual sojourn

Buddha, the serial which was B.K Modi's dream went on air in September, and traces the complete journey of Buddha from being a king to being known as Lord Gautam Buddha. As per the current track Buddha is trying out different paths after leaving his palace. The show has been talked about for its unique subject, the performances and costumes. Buddha has been a source of inspiration for millions of people across the globe. The show completed 30 episodes on Sunday. Siddhartha's transforming into Gautam Buddha and enlightenment will happen after two weeks.

The unit is going to visit Dalai Lama on April 2. Himanshu Soni confirms, "In the show my character is under the process of transformation from Siddhartha to Buddha. From the time I started doing Buddha it has been my heart's desire to meet Dalai Lama. Since producer B.K. Modi is a follower of Buddha and Dalai Lama I am getting a good opportunity to meet Dalai Lama in person". On being asked what he intends to ask Dalai Lama he says, "I think I would be so mesmerized by his sheer presence and aura that I feel I would be speechless. Working in Buddha has changed my attitude towards life."

Himanshu Soni (Buddha), Neha Kaul Uppal (Amrapali) and Abhiram Nain (Ajatshatru) would be going with creative producer Ridhwana and producer B.K. Modi to meet Dalai Lama. They would also do a skit there. Creative producer Ridhwana says, " This is a very special moment for us and the entire Buddha team. Meeting with His Holiness Dalai Lama (HHDL) was long overdue and we are extremely grateful to him for giving us time. As the Buddha is now on the path of the enlightenment, it becomes very important and insightful for us to meet the man himself. The entire team is excited. We would also be discussing with HHDL about his thoughts on our show and the suggestions to take "Buddha" to the world market. This is indeed a very special moment for everyone."

Star track
Role of a lifetime

Be it Hollywood or Bollywood, actresses put in everything to achieve success and stardom. But once they marry and have children, these glam girls prefer to be hands on mothers and neither meaty roles nor red carpet distracts them from their domestic preoccupations. We list some of the star mothers who gave preference to their children over arc lights.

Hollywood

A hands-on experience

Julia Roberts: The Oscar-winning actress is a mother to nine-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and six-year-old Henry. She says she is okay with doing one movie a year as her children still need her to be around. She has no qualms about it as the Pretty Woman star has already made a mark in the film industry. Roberts said that her family takes up a lot of her time and energy but she is happy. She was last seen in Oscar-nominated film August: Osage County in 2013.

Joys of motherhood

Kate Winslet: While many stars worked hard to get back into shape post pregnancy, the Titanic star, a mother of three, chose to spend time with her children rather than sweat out in a gym. Winslet, who gave birth to her third child last year, said that she wants to be healthy and be around for her children rather than concentrate on getting a flat stomach.

Striking a balance

Victoria Beckham: The former Spice Girl and now a fashion designer considers her four children - sons Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David and daughter Harper Seven - her world. She admits she has people to handle her schedule and everything revolves around the children. For instance, if there's a parents' night or an Easter bonnet parade or a nativity play, then she plans everything around that.

Bollywood

Over to children

Kajol: Ever since the Baazigar star gave birth to her daughter in 2003, her fans have seen her less on the big screen. Kajol, who has a son too, made it clear that children are her priority. She recently said in an interview that she can't dump them and go off to work. Like every mother, she feels her children need her attention. Kajol has often made special appearances in recent years in films like Student Of The Year, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Om Shanti Om.

Matter of priorities

Karisma Kapoor: The actress, who entered the film industry as a teenager, used to feature in several films in a year. But after she became a mother in 2005, her presence on the silver screen began to decrease and she has no regrets. She was last seen in 2012 film Dangerous Ishhq, which was a well-publicised comeback but not a successful one. She remains a devoted mother to daughter Samaira and son Kiaan, and has also penned a book on women.

Best left at home

Sonali Bendre: She made a comeback with Once Upon A Time Again but at the samwe time declared that her first priority is motherhood. She would take up any work only if she had any spare time after taking care of her family. — IANS

Some summer tips...

Actress Jennifer Aniston admits that she wears minimal make-up in summers in order to keep her skin fresh and healthy.

The 45-year-old Friends star uses less moisturiser in summers, reported a publication. "Summertime I wear the least amount of make-up. I use a great moisturiser. If anything, I put a little concealer here and there, a little rose on my cheeks and dust it with bronzer. That's summertime," Aniston said.

"And it's good not to over-moisturise because it clogs your pores! More moisture in the winter months, obviously. But here (in Los Angeles), it's just like one big season," she added.

The actress said she is excited about the summer sun. "Nothing gets me more excited than the first day of spring," she said. — PTI

Getting rid of shadows

Actress Emma Watson says she had doubts about her acting career as she was intimidated to come out of the shadow of her character Hermione Granger played in the Harry Potter series.

The 23-year-old Noah star did a year-long course at Oxford University in 2011 after the completion of Harry Potter series, reported a publication. She then enrolled into Brown University in Rhode Island, while still taking on acting roles including last year's movies The Bling Ring and This Is The End.

"After Harry Potter, all that mattered was university. I didn't even know if I wanted to be an actress. For a while it was amazing, as the American press afforded me so much privacy," Watson said. — PTI

Is KJo overworked?

Filmmaker Karan Johar's recent tweet suggests he may be overworked! "When you are overworked...you reach a point when you lose your sense of protocol...can't return messages...or address missed calls," he posted on the microblogging site. He is currently busy hosting his celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan and his next co-production 2 States, starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, is ready to release April 18. — IANS

Gwyneth on Coldplay tour!

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly planning to join Coldplay on tour in May despite her split from Chris Martin. The 41-year-old actress apparently wants to travel with the band so that her children Apple, nine and Moses, seven, can spend time with their father when the band kick off their tour in May in support of their sixth studio album, Ghost Stories, reported a website.

"Gwyneth has pledged to travel with the band. She's determined to keep things amicable and joked that she'll be their roadie," a source said. It has recently emerged that Martin is keen to work on their relationship in an attempt to save their 10-year old marriage and is hoping to reignite the flame they used to have.

"Chris still loves Gwyneth and would still like the marriage to survive. He hopes they might be able to rediscover what they had years ago and would love to rebuild their relationship back to what it once was." — PTI

One for the children

Goodwill hunting: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha has a soft corner for children of an NGO that she supports and she plans to treat them with a special screening of the Hindi version of Hollywood film Rio 2, for which she has lent her voice.

Sonakshi will organise a fun evening for the underprivileged children and she will also interact with them for sometime before the film's screening.

A source said: "Sonakshi is all geared up, she has enjoyed dubbing for Rio 2 so much that she thought it would be great to show the kids this film as they would also absolutely love it and enjoy it."

The movie is a sequel to the 2011 hit animation film Rio. Rio 2, an adventure comedy set in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, is releasing in 3D in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on April 11. — Agencies

Ileana’s dance trauma…

Actress Ileana D' Cruz, who has grooved with Varun Dhawan in Main Tera Hero, says that dancing on screen makes her feel "traumatised". "I get traumatized dancing on screen...I get so self-conscious as I am not a dancer. I get very nervous but I can dance well the minute I am not stressed," Ileana said during an interaction.

She says Varun made her feel "very comfortable" throughout the shooting of the film, which is directed by Varun's father David Dhawan.

Ileana, an established name in the southern film industry, made her Bollywood foray with Barfi!, in which she shared screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

She says Priyanka is the "biggest workaholic" she has ever met. "She works so much...almost 24X7. It's not that actresses can't be friends, it's just that we all are busy with our own work. I had a great time with Nargis (Fakhri) as well." Ileana says she doesn't have any wish list or plans about her upcoming films. "I don't look for stuff and I don't have a plan in place. All I can say is that I don't want to do anything insignificant. It's a director's perception...I even asked Anurag Basu why he chose me for Barfi!. I loved the character that I played.

The All India Women Artists’ Contemporary Art Exhibition 2014 by Artscapes provides wings to the creativity of women from across the country

Art is not merely a reflection of an artist's mind or thoughts, it often transcends beyond the evident creative efforts to a level that is sublime. This fact was underlined at the Museum of Fine Arts, Panjab University, where Artscapes, a non-profit, non-government organisation, has organised the All-India Women Artists Contemporary Art Exhibition. The event was inaugurated by UT Administrator Shivraj V Patil, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

"We received many entries from women across the country. The paintings were selected by Prem Singh and Biman B Das," shares Simrat Bhullar, the director of Artscapes. At the exhibition there are many works of merit each although some of them by seasoned artists like Manuk Prashar, Nutan Dhiman and Sunita Dinda, have a decided edge. While the winner of the competition was Geeta Chauhan, who made a metal sculpture, Untitled II, Mili Mishra, who received the second prize, gives us full-bodied intimations of the life of human beings. These are not an exercise in mere form, but, rather, expressions through formal means of a dramatic human situation. Also, Varsha Badal, who is differently abled, may not speak or hear, but her painting Light Bulb Sun, speaks volumes about her creative talent as she bags the second award.

Nutan Dhiman from Chandigarh, who was awarded the third prize for her wood cut painting, A Portrait, shares, "This is a painting about vibes and layers in the human body, which get affected by the harmful radiations of cell-phones." Her painting exudes depth, precision and detail. From the works of Medhavi, Mili Mishra and Nazima Rangwala, who bagged the third and fourth prize, respectively, we decipher that women artists love the movement of colour and strong, vibrant imagery. The works of Alka Kalra and Kumari Krishna are also noteworthy.

Singer-actor Nishawn Bhullar would like to be known as a singer first….

He carries a flame in his intense eyes, he would want to bring a change in the system and if that comes through his music and films, nothing better. Nishawn Bhullar gained recognition after his first track Teri Foto Kyun Nahin Bhagat Singh in 2010 and thereafter his debut film Nabar won a National Award. His track Jugni from the same film questions the system. He feels strongly for struggling artists. "I would do anything to help them," says this singer actor from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. "I knew I wanted to sing and act, so I decided to come to Punjab," he adds.

Singer first

I like to call myself a singer; in fact I always want to be known as a singer even though I like to act as well.

Collaborations, if any

Arif Lohar and J Star are the two people I would want to collaborate with. I think both can bring in their style, which enhances mine.

Memorable moments

In 2011 I performed in my hometown; I could see how proud my parents and relatives felt about me. I sang in front of people who had seen me grow.

Riyaaz, a prayer

I dedicate one hour everyday to riyaaz. I am not a trained singer, everyday is training for me.

A song on my i-Pod

Kishore Kumar's O mere dil ke chain

Marooned on an island

Well, if you give me options, I would take my cellphone and shades with me.

Currently...

I have finished the shoot for the next film Suhe Phull and I am also working on various single tracks, including Yaadan, Baba nanak, Yaari and Perfume.

Socially active

I am not hooked to Facebook; I use it once in a while.

Favourite movies

Khamosh paani and Nabar

The right balance

I would want to do both art and commercial films. For a good actor, both are important.

Designer Swati Srivastava is taking rapid strides in the world of fashion

Looking forward: Swati Srivastava

She has given Lakme Fashion Week and Wills India Fashion Week a miss in all these years and is all set to take a plunge at the New York Fashion Week. Or so claims the designer, Swati Srivastava, who was in Chandigarh on Tuesday to be a part of Tatva's fifth anniversary celebrations. She brings along bridal and party-wear in fabric that is light-weight and suitable for the scorching North India summer. "There are chiffons, georgettes, chantily lace…the fabrics that remain light even when embellished heavily with stones," says Swati.

Not enrolling for the major fashion weeks of India is a conscious decision. "I already enjoy a huge clientele in India. I have been retailing through major designer stores in different cities since 2005." She is a NIFT pass-out and was adjudged the best student designer in 2004. "Also, I primarily do Western wear and in India, the market for ethnic line is much bigger." Her ethnic collection is primarily about drapes. She has been holding exhibitions in the US and will also present her collection at the Dubai Fashion Week. Besides designing, she is also working in tandem with Aastha Sharma, stylist of Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez.

As for fashion forecast, she predicts, this will be the year of soft shades ranging from peach, powdered coral, misty rose, yellow, white and pink. Her collection for the autumn winter edition of the New York Fashion Week this season, she says, will be very international and very chic.

Go banana
Ranjan Dibya

Fruit and bread is always a winning combination. And when we use fruit in baking, the product becomes wholesome and nutritious. Banana has the useful carbs and potassium content, which when incorporated into the bread enhances the taste.

  • 1120 gram flour
  • 450 gm egg
  • 44 gm baking soda
  • 500 gram milk
  • 350 gram sunflower cooking oil
  • 100 gm walnuts

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees C. Lightly grease some oil in a loaf pan. In a bowl, combine flour and baking soda. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one by one and stir continually. Stir milk and mashed bananas until well-blended. Mix bananas and flour, stir just to moisten. Finally add oil to the mixture. Bake in pre-heated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into centre of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in a pan for 10 minutes and then turn out. Cut into slice and serve.

CELEB POINT
Making a difference
Divya Dutta

It's been a good start to the year. My first film this year post Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was Ragini MMS 2, which has been a huge hit. What I am happier about is to have been successful in being able to not get stuck in an image of a well received and loved role.

It's safer to lay a bet on a tried and tested successful formula. I felt like breaking the formula mode of casting. Deliberately, I decided to surprise myself more than others and pick roles I've not done before. After Veer Zara, I was flooded with roles of Punjabi vivacious girl next door and I said no to all. My mother thought I was mad to refuse and she showed her displeasure but I stuck to what my heart said as always....waited for an year after a hit film like Veer Zara till Rakesh Mehra came to me with Jalebi, a role in Dilli 6. My first reaction was shock and I asked him why would you cast me in a role I've never been seen in? And he said that's exactly why I think you will do it well. I loved his faith in me. I realised one thing that day that there are makers who set examples and there are those who only follow those. Like a herd following a set successful formula, I promised myself to work with only those who set examples.

Post BMB I was flooded again with emotional roles. I said no again. I didn't want to get stuck in a rut. So, I waited till I met Ekta who offered me Ragini MMS! I asked her again why me for this sexy sassy role and she said because I think you can do it well. She had her own mind.

It is a rebel inside me that makes me do different from what's expected of me. And so shall it be always.

Legend-ary love song

For all those soul-music lovers, if you still haven't heard the song titled All of Me by American contemporary R&B recording artiste John Legend, from his fourth studio album Love in the Future, get searching for it. Peaking at the second position, on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart (his highest charting single there). The lyrics of the song have been penned by Toby Gad and Legend. Also, for those of you who think love goes out through the window once you get married, this song is a dedication by Legend to his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

Fresh love

The thing about love songs is that they have been done to death and it is very difficult to come up with any newness in their ideation or execution, but John Legend has given us a brand new love song.

Varun Bhasin, businessman

Lyrical offer

I love the song, especially for John Legend's vocals and the lyrics. Also, I like the video of the song. It's awesome!

Navraj Singh, agriculturist

Magnetic vocals

The most interesting thing about this song is the vocals. There is a certain kind of bass in his voice and his octave shifts are smooth.
