Cricket tourney from tomorrow: Professional Cricket Club will organise the 1st Ashok Kumar Vij Memorial Corporate Cricket Tourney from March 12 at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36. A total of 8 teams from tricity have confirmed their participation. Each team will play three league matches before entering the semifinal and final.

Mahindra launches India’s first CRDe tractor: The Farm Equipment Sector (FES) of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd launched its first CRDe tractor - Arjun 605 MAT (Multi-Application Tractor). Rajesh Jejurikar, chief executive, Tractor and Farm Mechanization Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said “We have been the first to introduce CRDe technology in tractors, which is usually present in automobiles. Arjun 605 MT is India’s first multi-application tractor with the CRDe technology. It will deliver superior performance in high-end applications for both agricultural and haulage purposes.”

New smartphone by Gionee: Gionee Smartphones announced the launch of its new flagship smartphone, ELIFE E7, on Saturday. Anil Sharma, managing director, UT Electronics Pvt. Ltd, said ELIFE E7 was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and android-based operating system AMIGO 2.0.

PU postpones interviews: For strict implementation of the model code of conduct, Panjab University has postponed the interviews for the selection of programmers and security guards. The interviews for programmers were to be held at PU V-C’s office on March 14. The interviews for security guards (contract) were to be held from March 11 to 13. The new dates will be communicated later.
