VB nabs patwari for bribe:
The Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday caught patwari Ram Kishore while accepting a bribe of ~5,000 in lieu of granting an ownership certificate to a resident of Rajgarh Channa village in Amloh sub-division.

Students to get free coaching:
In all, 60 students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Pandori, were selected for free coaching for the IIT entrance exam. The International Sikh Confederation will prepare the students for the exam.

Muktsar
Villagers block road:
Residents of Doda village blocked the Muktsar-Bathinda highway for nearly three hours on Tuesday, demanding shifting of a liquor vend. It is located near a religious place. The villagers alleged that the vend owner and his employees had thrashed a youth on Monday. The market remained closed from 9 am to noon.

Ex-MP’s revolver stolen:
A licensed revolver and 10 cartridges were allegedly stolen from the house of former MP Harbhajan Lakha in Banga. In a compliant to the police, Lakha, who lives alone, said he used to keep his revolver and cartridges in an almirah. On Monday, he found the revolver and cartridges missing. A few months ago, eight gold bangles and a battery of an inverter were stolen from his house.

Panchkula
140 units of blood collected:
As many as 140 units of blood were donated at a camp organised by Vishvas Foundation and the Life Store in Sector 9 here today. Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas, general secretary of Vishvas Foundation, Panchkula, and Vikas Garg, managing director of Life Store, Panchkula, inaugurated the camp. Dr Puneet Sachdeva and his team from the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh, conducted the camp.

‘Jhadu Chalao’ drive continues:
The local unit of the AAP continued its ‘Jhadu Chalao Bhrasht Bhagao’ campaign. AAP volunteers claimed that the campaign received good response in Bapu Dham Colony, Police Colony, Sector 26 and Grain Market, Sector 26. They said a membership drive was also carried out.
