Ad contract: Civic body to be richer by Rs 2.52 crore

The cash-strapped Municipal Corporation is trying hard to generate resources to strengthen its position. The civic body today awarded the contract of short-term advertisements (six months) to a bidder for Rs 2.52 crore subject to approval by the state government.

Swindler dupes elderly woman of cash, gold ornaments

A swindler robbed an elderly woman of cash and gold ornaments of Neta Ji Nagar in Salem Tabri area today.
Sitawanti (75), Dr Rupinder Kumar’s mother, said in the morning, a youth arrived at her house on a scooter.
He entered the house on the pretext of seeing the wall paint.
26 food samples collected

The Health Department staff today collected 26 food samples from different parts of the city. On the directions of the Civil Surgeon, Subhash Batta, food safety officers collected the samples under the supervision of the District Health Officer , Dr Avinash Kumar.

A truck driver had a miraculous escape after his vehicle collided with a stationary goods carrier in the wee hours near here today.
