Panchayat Minister honours farmers for excellence

The Punjab Agricultural University Kisan Club organised its annual function today. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, was the chief guest on the occasion, while DS Cheema, MLA, Ropar, was the guest of honour. Mangal Singh Sandhu, Director of Agriculture, Punjab, presided over the function.
Officials explore possibility of link road

Firing outside councillor's office
Ludhiana, February 6
At least 12 persons, including Focal Point SHO Gurtej Singh, were hurt after angry residents, who were protesting against a firing incident that took place outside the office of BJP councillor from Ward No. 16 in Deep Singh Nagar near Shepur Chowk, threw stones at a police party.

The Jagraon police have arrested two persons for allegedly robbing two guards of the state Forest Department of cash and bicycles. The police arrested both the accused within two hours of the crime.
