Man dies of ‘cold’ near night shelter
Ludhiana, February 1
Causing much embarrassment to the district administration and the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, a middle-aged man died due to suspected hypothermia in the city. His body was recovered from near Reikhy Chowk, this morning. Ironically, a night shelter being run by Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is situated hardly few meters from the place where his body was recovered.

Overloaded rice husk trucks a threat to commuters 
Ludhiana, February 1
Overloaded rice husk trucks are posing grave danger to commuters travelling on Ferozepur Road at midnight. Due to the dense fog, the extended portions of these trucks can not be located by the driver of a smaller vehicle and often result in accidents.

Wakf Board rebuts govt’s claim

Sarpanch to go on hunger strike 
Jagraon, February 1
To protest against the alleged injustice meted out to him by the district administration, Balaur Singh, a retired Army Captain and now a sarpanch of Bhamipura Kallan village near Jagraon, has declared to sit on an indefinite hunger strike at Block Development and Panchayat Office (BDPO) in Jagraon from February 3.

PPCB inspects dying units on Tajpur road

To check the proper working of water treatment plants in the dying units, the team of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) inspected the units today. The PPCB teams have inspected the several units on Tajpur Road in the past two days.

Farmers should unite for the noble cause of saving agriculture from the ongoing crisis. Councillors given the cold shoulder

The councillors of Ward Numbers 7 and 8 struggled to get the road infrastructure project sanctioned, but it took just 10 minutes for Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to inaugurate the project.
