Muktsar
IPS cadre for Muktsar SSP: Surjit Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Muktsar, has been inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, by which he has become eligible for the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). Surjit Singh was commissioned as DSP in 1991. He has served in Moga, Mansa, Tarn Taran, Batala, Ferozepur and Amritsar districts. He has received the President’s medal for meritorious service.

Badals to be honoured for getting nod for hospital:Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will be honoured with gold medals by people of Sangrur and Barnala districts at a "Samman Samaroh" on November 26 at Ghabdan village, about 12 km from here. Stating this here today, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said the two leaders would be honoured for their contribution in getting an approval for a 300-bed satellite centre (cancer hospital) of the PGIMER, Chandigarh, at Ghabdan village, and implementation of welfare schemes for the common masses.
