8 test positive for dengue

Eight persons tested positive for dengue today. They are under treatment at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital for the past seven days. Of them, three are from Ludhiana district (one each from Jagraon, Shastri Nagar and New Kartar Nagar), two from Hoshiarpur, and one each from Kapurthala, Moga and Haryana.

A machine pulls down a building constructed illegally on MC land in Sunet village near the BRS Nagar Colony in Ludhiana on Friday A team of the building branch of the municipal corporation today pulled down a three-storeyed building near the cremation ground in Sunet village and secured the complete possession of a 2,200 sq yard chunk of land of the civic body, which was under encroachment for a long time.

Ludhiana: The declaration of MA History second year result by Panjab University, Chandigrah, was a matter of pride for Guru Nanak Girls College. Harpreet Rani bagged first position in college by securing 69.6 per cent. Kamaljit Kaur bagged second position by securing 67.2 per cent and Mandeep Kaur secured third position in college by securing 66.7 per cent. Principal of the college Dr Charanjit Mahal and president Gurbir Singh congratulated faculty and students for the success.
