9 challaned under Tobacco Act

On the instructions of Dr Parvinderpal Singh Sidhu, Senior Medical Officer, Community Health Centre, Sahnewal, a team of the Health Department challaned as many as nine persons under the Tobacco Act for smoking and selling cigarettes at public places, including schools and bus stand.
Illegal political hoardings removed from different parts of city

3 suspected cases of dengue reported
Ludhiana, July 15
As many as three suspected cases of dengue were reported from DMC, Ludhiana, and their samples have been sent to Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, for testing. One patient belongs to Raikot, one from Moga district, and another from Kapurthala district.

Registration of illegal colonies stops for now in district

As the work of the registration of land deals is suffering in the district due to the ongoing issue of regularisation of illegal colonies, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Tiwari reportedly called a meeting of the tehsildars and SDMs here to make it clear that the registration of illegal colonies had been stopped by the government for the time being and the tehsildars and naib tehsildars must continue the registration of other land deals and visitors should not be harassed.
