Parking violations on Ferozepur Road
9 commercial establishments in spot
Ludhiana, May 1
Parking-related violations might cost dear to nine prominent commercial establishments, including shopping malls and hotels, along Ferozepur Road, as the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation that if any parking-related violation is proved, the premises concerned should be sealed.

Residents alarmed as tremors shake city in afternoon

A moderate intensity earthquake rocked the city today. Recorded 5.8 on the Richter scale, tremors were felt at 12.27 pm. It was on April 16 that the city had last felt tremors. On feeling the tremors people moved out in the open.

Suppliers’ protest hits road widening work

The ongoing work to widen Ropar-Doraha road was today suspended following protest by suppliers of material. Several JCB owners, truckers and petrol pump owners alleged that they are fed up with the false assurances of contractor about payment as the cheques given by contractor have failed.

Woman commits suicide
Khanna, May 1
In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly consumed some poisonous substance and also poisoned her two children under mysterious circumstances. After which she died while her two children are struggling for life at a hospital in Ludhiana. However, her third child escaped, as he did not consumed poisonous substance given by her mother.
