Tribune News Service

Panchkula, February 7
Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary's counsel today withdrew a security application, which was filed in the court citing a threat to the MLA's life as the reason. It was stated since an application for providing the B class facilities to the MLA has already been moved, if the court provides the same, then there will be no need to have security for the MLA in the jail.

Arguments were held in the court over the execution of a general power of attorney in the name of Chaudhary's wife and the B class facilities sought by Chaudhary in the jail.

Chaudhary had requested the court he is an MLA and his father Lajja Ram Chaudhary was also a four time MLA. He should be provided security because he has threat to his life from other prisoners.

The Panchkula police had apprehended Chaudhary's escape from police custody and had opposed his going to the Sub-registrar's office at Baddi for executing a GPA in his wife's name.

The case has been deferred till tomorrow.
