ADC, 4 others hurt in accident: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Mandi, Gopal Chand was injured, along with three members of his family and his driver Kuldip, when his Innova car, coming from the Shimla side, collided with a truck near Ghaghas, 15 km from here, on Monday.

Body found hanging: The body of Chaman Lal, an employee in IPH Department and resident of Jhabola village, near Shah Talai, 65 km from here, was found hanging in a room of his house on Monday by villagers. Reports said Chaman was having strained relations with his wife for long.

Illegal mining: 2 tractor owners fined: In a special drive against illegal mining in the district, the police conducted a raid along the river banks at Udaipur and intercepted two tractors involved in illegal mining. According to a police report here on Wednesday, both the tractor owners had been fined Rs 4,500 each and Rs 9,000 which had been realised on the spot.
