Drunk driving claims another life

A business process outsourcing (BPO) employee died while four others were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into the Sectors 7, 19, 26 and 27 roundabout on Madhya Marg in the wee hours of Saturday. All the youths in their mid-twenties were drunk at the time of the accident.

Even as the ward formation in Panchkula has been finalised, the Municipal Corporation (MC) elections are expected to take place in Panchkula before March 16, the day when the three year period to hold MC elections lapses. Infant's death: Doctor couple booked for negligence
Ambala, January 19
Naraingarh police has arrested a doctor couple from a private hospital, for the death of a female child due to alleged negligence of hospital staff. The police had registered a case against the doctor couple under Section 304A and 34 of the IPC, on January 18. The couple was produced in Naraingarh court today and were granted the bail.

Pbi varsity to set up dept on traditional knowledge

Punjabi University will be the first university, to establish a department of ‘Indian Traditional Knowledge’ on its campus, following the central government’s pursuit for doing so in the country. It was stated by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Jaspal Singh, while presiding over a three-day National Print Making Workshop, ‘Wings Of Expression’ Print Making, being organised by S Sobha Singh from the Department of Fine Arts, that went underway, here today.

In the ongoing Chandigarh State Veteran Badminton championship, Haroon Rashid thrased Dinesh Kumar in straight sets during the match in the +35 singles age category, at the Badminton Hall, Sector 42, today. Haroon defeated Dinesh at 21-0 and 21-4.
