Kendriya Vidyalaya celebrates foundation day: A cultural show was put up by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya (No.1) to mark its foundation day here today. They displayed their talents through various activities, including singing, dancing and dramatics. School principal Kusam Malhotra read out the message of the Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Teachers, too, actively participated in the event.

Teenager arrested for raping 5-yr-old: The police has arrested a 19-year-old boy for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl at Sulkha village, 12 km  from here. He has been identified as Satish Kumar. Sources said when the girl was playing outside her house, Satish took her inside his house and raped her. The girl and Satish were medically examined here at the civil hospital. He was produced today before the Duty Magistrate, who remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.

Body found hanging from tree: Mystery shrouds death of Ratan Chand, who was working as a beldar in the Public Works Department (PWD), at Thona under Sarkaghat police station. Rattan’s body was found hanging from a tree at Thona today. He was missing since December 12 when he had left for duty to Thona. The police had conducted the post-mortem examination and handed over the body to his family members and started inquest proceedings.
