Phagwara civic body expands its limits:
The local Municipal Corporation has expanded its limits in 7.81 square km area comprising 16 villages, including Guru Nanak Nagar, Baba Fateh Singh Nagar, Kaulsar, Gaunspur, Hajipur, Basantagar, Gobindpura, Sukhchain Nagar, Raja Garden, Rampura, Peepa Rangi, Shamnagar, Kot Rani, Chachoki, Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar and Baba Gadhian.

Sangrur
229 challaned for smoking in public
: As many as 229 persons were issued challans for smoking in public places, including bus stands, hospitals and office complexes, in October in the district. An amount of Rs 16,330 was collected from violators as fine. District Nodal Officer for Tobacco Control Dr Surinder Singla said among the challans, 116 had been issued by health authorities, 64 by District Ayurveda staff and 25 by the Ahmedgarh municipal council.

Hisar
2 Hisar nursing homes raided
: Income tax officials raided two nursing homes in the city early this morning. These were Arora Orthopaedic Hospital located in Tayal Garden and Sukhda Nursing Home on Delhi Road. IT officials said the raids were part of their ongoing survey to check tax avoidance. The raids were continuing when reports last came in.

Coils stolen
: Rahul Kumar, SDO-2, UHBVN, Pundri, has lodged a complaint about the theft of transformer coils worth Rs 99,000 from fields in Sanch village.
