A big, bossy affair
The stage is set for the latest season of Bigg Boss. While there are models, actors and singers, our eyes will be firmly fixed on our very own star — former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu
Ashima Batish

Who are they? Where have they come from? Do you know them? Are they the true-blue celebrities or just the ones suffering from 'me-too-a-celebrity' syndrome? There is a parrot, a fish, a Sana Khan, a Sayantani Ghosh, models Niketan Madhok and Karishma Kotak; introduced to the public by Bigg Boss all in a bid to create 'somebodies' out of 'nobodies. Navjot Singh Sidhu does make up for a lot. Long-forgotten TV vamp Urvashi Dholakia, actors Aashka Goradia and Delnaaz are consolation names, and the rest fall somewhere in the celebrity bracket. Whatever be the cast, whoever be the self-professed celebrity, wherever they come from…it's all fine as long as entertainment is promised. And that is something that is always debatable!

Model-turned-actor Aanchal Kumar feels that though the contestants are an interesting mix of celebrities from various fields, not all of them are popular enough with the masses. "TV actors still have a reach, but how will people connect with those they are hearing about for the first time." Of all the contestants, her favourite is Sampat Pal, the commander of the Gulabi Gang. "Rest of them are from urban areas; they will deal diplomatically, they know how take controversies in their stride." She is looking forward to how Sampat will share space with fake friends and make peace with pretensions, which are in abundance on the show.

Quite surprisingly, Bigg Boss is trying to keep the house free from all the bad causes. The statues of three monkeys placed in the house aim to promote Gandhian philosophy — not to see, hear and do bad deeds. Debojit Saha, a playback singer, who was seen in Bigg Boss 2, believes no ethics can work inside the house. "The levels of frustration are so high that it's difficult to stay calm." He expects Navjot Singh Sidhu to go a very long way inside the house, "He is extremely popular as a former international cricketer, entertainer and now as a Member of Parliament. He is interesting in person and I am sure will keep the audience glued."

The 'no love lost' between Delnaaz and ex-husband Rajeev Paul is another interesting point in the show; it will be quite a challenge for them to handle their personal issues in public space. Sara Khan, who has been through almost the same circumstances, says that audience might enjoy the love-hate relationship between the ex-couple, but for them it's going to be extremely taxing. "It's not easy to wash your dirty linen in public, but then do you have a choice? Three months is a long time; you can't put up a decent front forever. Sooner or later, I am expecting fireworks between the couple."

Rakhi Sawant, a former Bogg Boss' house inmate, also bets for the couple and wishes to be in the same situation sometime with her ex-boyfriend Abhishek. Her other favourite is Sampat Pal. "It will be fun to take girls' side when any male contender takes up a fight. She is a different character, from a very different background. The urban meets rural will be another highpoint." The rest of the kind, she says, have been seen and heard enough.

Even if the contestants fall short of expectations in entertaining, Salman Khan is there with his sincere attempts to make the show a hit once again. Only if he could shout a little less and cut down on his overacting!

Bhojpuri overdose
The casting of Bigg Boss doesn’t have a surprise element anymore. Expect a politician, a few TV actors; a couple of ‘almost Bollywood actors’ whose careers nosedived and of course at least one Bhojpuri ‘superstar’. This time it is Dinesh Yadav.

success mantra
A prayer called dance
Mona

Art, administration and family, known danseuse Shobha Koser has handled different facets of life beautifully. One of the leading proponent of Jaipur Gharana of kathak, her performances have got standing ovation around the globe. Having started in her childhood, till date, well in her post-retirement age, she is as passionate about her craft as ever, “One can express the inner self beautifully in kathak and it is simple enough for viewers to understand as well,” says Shobha, who is busy propagating traditional Indian fine arts at the Pracheen Kala Kendra. She shares her success mantras.

Go deep
Hardwork and sincerity towards the craft make one understand it well and it’s the depth that brings the beauty. I am grateful to my teachers Guru Kanhiya Lal, from whom I learnt the basics, and Guru Kundan Lal Gangani, who taught me the finer aspects of kathak. An artiste also needs to be humble and one who takes bouquets and brickbats with equanimity.

Firm resolve
I have always accomplished what I have set my heart on. Despite two critical illnesses, I fought back. They gave me more courage. I bounced back not only to routine life but also my dance. Kathak is my passion and I always take out time for it. Guruji would come at 5:30 am and I would go to school sitting on his cycle afterwards. When working, I took out time in the evening. Now once I am free from the Kendra and the world sleeps, at around 11, I take out my ghungroo and do my sadhna.

Face challenges
It’s in you to win over the trials and tribulations of life. A few years back when I was in Malaysia for a lecture, demonstration and performance, my younger sister lost her husband. My performance time coincided with the ‘kriya’. That was probably the toughest moment of my life. I just couldn’t cancel the performance as it was a solo show. I put all my emotions in my performance Jatayu Moksha and got a standing ovation for it. Koser Ji stood by me like ever. Each one of us needs to master emotions and channelise them towards higher goals.

Value time
Never let time go waste. When my kids were small, I still gave time to ‘riyaaz’ and to my job — that of a lecturer and later principal. I cooked for my family. I prepared lots of dance dramas in colleges Shakuntala, Urvashi, Geet Gobind, completed my studies and wrote books. And today, I have no regret for each moment of my life has been spent well.

Shoulder responsibilities
Art is one aspect, but in life one needs to do justice to all the roles one plays. I was fortunate that I found steady support in my husband. I tried to strike a balance between different roles - that of a dancer, wife and mother. While practicing in the evening, my feet would automatically stop when it was time to go home and make dinner for kids. Today, my son Sajal is a busy advocate, but he takes out time for the Kendra and together we take important decisions.

Shobha continues her work with zeal. Her idol is Sitara Devi and just like her she wants to be on the stage till she breathes.

Together forever

Former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler has reportedly moved in with actor boyfriend George Clooney at his Los Angeles home.

Keibler, who had spent most of the summer with Clooney at his home in Lake Como, Italy, has now shifted to his bachelor pad, making their friends believe that their relationship has become serious, reported a publication.

"She's 100 per cent moved in with him, she spends her summers at Lake Como in Italy and all her stuff is at his place in Los Angeles.

"While she maintains a small rent controlled apartment in West Hollywood, she uses it as a storage space for mementos and personal items. All her clothes are at George's and she never goes home," a source said.

Clooney, 51, is said to have told his friends that the 32-year-old is the perfect match for him because she isn't clingy like his past girlfriends. — PTI

Zac finds dating tough

Zac Efron may have wooed many a young actress but the Hollywood actor finds dating awkward. The 24-year-old actor, who has dated actresses Lily Collins and Jennifer Hudgens, confirmed that he is regretfully single, reported a publication.

"Dating is kind of hard. A forced awkward situation is very strange. Especially for me, for some reason. I like to go and do something adventurous. I like to go out and do some sort of crazy activity," said Efron.

After briefly romancing Collins, 23, earlier this year, Efron acknowledged that dating in the public eye presents a different set of challenges.

"You always have to be careful, I guess, about that kind of thing. Every day is a new experience and I take it as it comes. Some people I worry about, some I really don't have to." Efron also talked about dancing in his underwear opposite Nicole Kidmman, 45, in the upcoming drama The Paperboy.

"It was a sort of intense dramatic moment for me. I was very prepared to give my all in a dramatic moment, and before I knew it, music started to turn up around me and she kind of looked at me and said, 'You want to dance?' And they're still rolling, so I couldn't really say, 'Cut!' And before I knew it, we were improvising an entire dance in the rain. It's one of my favorite scenes in the movie."

It’s a Hat-trick

Jiah Khan, Nishabd actress Jiah Khan, who was last seen in 2010 film Housefull, has signed a three-film deal with a big production house.

Said Jiah, "I will again appear in Bollywood as part of a three-film deal but can't disclose more at this stage."

When asked which director she would want to work with, she said, "I simply love Anurag Kashyap's film-making. But Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mani Ratnam are my two other favourite film-makers who have weaved magic with their work." Asked what went in her mind when she first learnt about essaying a role opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the 2007 Ramgopal Verma flick Nishabd, Jiah said, "I did not have any butterflies in the stomach. I knew I have to give my best shot opposite Mr Bachchan and he did not behave as a superstar." — PTI

Mumbai calling out to Ileana

Ileana D'Cruz Like many of her colleagues from Southern cinema, actress Ileana D'Cruz intends to move to Mumbai after making a successful Bollywood debut with Barfi!, and work towards building a career in Hindi cinema.

"I am planning to move to Mumbai very soon, probably in the next couple of months," said the actress.

"This is why I haven't signed anything new in the South. I made a decision not to sign anything while working on Barfi!. Now that it's out I will be in Mumbai to build a career here. I am in the process of buying a place. The hunt is on. I realise I'd have to divide my time between the South and Mumbai," she added.

She is also working on brushing up her Hindi. "I am learning (Hindi). I've dubbed my own lines in Barfi!. But I don't yet converse in Hindi. I need to build up the confidence to do so."

However, despite the success, Ileana is adamant she won't stop working down South.

"A lot of people in the South are wondering if I will say goodbye to Telugu cinema. But I really don't think that's possible. I am really proud to be part of Telugu and now Hindi cinema," said the 24-year-old, who is known to be the highest paid Southern actress.

"The two kinds of cinema are so diverse culturally and yet part of a unified, popular cultural experience that's Indian cinema. I've so much fun doing Telugu cinema. They're so colourful and so much fun," she added.

As far as the kinds of films are concerned, Ileana says she'd play it by the ear.

"I'll take it as it comes. Whether Hindi or Telugu, I'd do the films that I connect with. Like I had this amazing gut-feeling about Barfi!," she added.

Ileana is winning accolades for her unconventional portrayal of a saree-clad Bengali woman, who sacrifices her love for Ranbir's character in Barfi!.

"Honestly I wasn't looking for something so unconventional for my Bollywood debut. I'd have settled for something far more conventional and glamorous. But then everybody takes that glamorous route," she said.

"I just went with my instincts. When I heard the script of Barfi! I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to pull off the role. To play this Bengali woman was quite a change of image from what I'm seen wearing and doing in my Telugu films.

"It was quite a cultural change. Very frankly I undertook no preparation. I asked my director Anurag Basu if he wanted me to seek out reference points for how to play my character. But we just went with what Anurag instructed me to do. I'd say my character Shruti was hard to put across. I am glad people have liked me," she added.

Meanwhile, Ileana is in talks for more Hindi films. She is contract-bound to do one more film with UTV, but free to work with whoever she chooses. — IANS

Sunny Leone not in RGV's next

Ram Gopal Varma Bhoot Returns is yet to release but film-maker Ram Gopal Varma has already started planning the third part of his 2003 film Bhoot.

Moreover, the buzz is also that adult star Sunny Leone is going to star in it. Ram Gopal Varma ?confirmed the project but denied approaching Sunny for the film.

"Yes, am making Bhoot 3 but not with Sunny Leone because sunny is sex and Bhoot is horror. Both are different drinks and I don't mix my drinks," he tweeted.

Parineeti's fashion-noble act

Clad in a beautiful navy blue-orange lehanga, teamed with a deep-cut choli and a heavy dupatta, chirpy and spontaneous actress Parineeti Chopra left the audience applauding and cheering when she walked the ramp for veteran designer Manish Malhotra at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).

Known for her bubbly image on the silver screen, Parineeti walked the ramp with a lot of elegance and poise. Her entry made people cheer her. She could not help smiling and waving at her fans, even as she looked stunning without any accessories and minimal make-up.

The 24-year-old, who made her acting debut with Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, left it on the audience on how she looked.

"About the outfit, I think it's for you people to judge," said Parineeti.

Malhotra showcased his latest Mijwan collection in the capital Sunday night. It comprised the traditional yet popular embroidery work, Chikankari, by girls from Mijwan, who are supported by veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi's Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS).

Mijwan is a small village near Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Shabana started the show by sharing some lines by her father, late Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi, who founded the MWS to empower the girl child.

The collection saw the return of earthy, subdued tones like ivory, burnt orange, dull shades of red and pink. There was a mix of garments both for men and women. Coats, kurtas, sherwanis, lehangas teamed with long jackets and cholis, farsi pants and anarkalis. The outfits were liked by all and it was a jam-packed show.

The 62-year-old actress dressed elegantly for the occasion in a black shirt and white chikankari dupatta, and was all praise for Malhotra's collection.

"Manish with his collection is bringing into fashion world the craft, which is our USP and which is what we can offer to the world. They can copy everything but cannot compete with our craft," Shabana said.

Malhotra, who has designed for over 1,000 films and is a recipient of 38 awards, said about his collection, "This show was basically about showing the craft of Mijwan. My purpose was to bring it up here at an event like WIFW. It's Shabanaji's NGO and Parineeti was very kind and said she wanted to be associated with it and that is how we are all here."

"Fashion week is all about style and trends but it is important sometimes to see the Indian craft which is happening in our villages and is so beautiful," he added.

Cousin of Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti said, "I don't want it to be just about ramp walk, but I seriously and genuinely feel for what Mijwan and what Manish and Shabanaji are doing. For such an initiative, I just could not say no. I had to be a part of it."

The designer, who has styled some of the most popular faces in Bollywood including Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Karisma Kapoor, is known for his collection that boasts of a fusion of traditional and contemporary designs. —IANS

All praise for Milan Luthria

Vidya Balan Actress Vidya Balan, who played southern actress Silk in The Dirty Picture, says the movie's director Milan Luthria should be given credit for starting the trend of using southern flavour in the characters and songs of Bollywood.

"I did not start (the trend), Milan Luthria did. I am an actor and I work according to the demands of the story. It (The Dirty Picture) was the story of a southern actress," the 33-year-old said here.

Vidya spoke on the sidelines at the launch of Munmun Ghosh's novel "Unhooked" recently.

Taking the trend of southern flavour forward, Rani Mukerji has done a Tollywood-style number in her next film Aiyyaa. When Vidya was asked if the song and movie reflects shades of The Dirty Picture, she said, "If it is south-based film then they will be visible."

Directed by Sachin Kundalkar, Aiyyaa has Rani in the role of a Marathi girl and also stars southern actor Prithviraj.

Meanwhile, talking about her romantic-comedy Ghanchakkar, in which she features with Emraan Hashmi, Vidya said, "Shooting is on and we are trying to make a good film. Let's see what happens." — IANS

Pankaj & Nidhi The fact that the designers Pankaj and Nidhi presented their collection with Kallol Dutta at the grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week explains how big they have become. They were applauded for their creations, which were on the lines of lattice work, something that hasn’t been done before. Here they share tips on the latest trends this season.

What in: Go for monochromatic bright colours and contrast them with black and white lowers. In terms of fabrics, pick your favourite among wool, leather and silk. Jacket is one garment you must buy this season. Have as many of them in your wardrobe and team them up with tapering denims, tights or anti-fit trousers. Layering them up with a scarf or tie is fine but keep your look clean and clutter-free.

What’s out: Shop for a size larger than your actual size because body-hugging clothes are passé. Don’t burst out of what you wear. Even if you sport a little black dress for a party, it shouldn’t define the shape of your body. Keep it loose and elegant. Comfort is more important than anything else.

Models showcasing their creations.Colour count: All jewel tones will rule the colour chart of the season. Jewel red, pink, vivid emerald and agate blue will be the preferred colours of fashion designers world wide.

Party couture: It’s time you tried something new. Take a break from a usual cocktail or short dress. As jackets are a big trend this fall-winter, try one for a party. Pick a piece that has non-uniform, interesting silhouettes. As a part of the experiment, keep it sleeveless. It need not necessarily be something to shield you from the weather.

Dressed to the nines: Though she has not got her due for her perfect style sense, but Neha Dhupia knows how to look glamourous and yet not over the top. She has the courage to step out in anti-fit gowns in neon orange. She carries a jump suit as nicely as she does a short dress. The best part is she doesn’t scream from the rooftop that she is a fashionista.

Leading in fashion: As of now, it’s Sabyasachi who is ruling the fashion scene in India. Anamika Khanna and Rajesh Pratap Singh are equally big.

Indian fashion industry: The first generation of Indian fashion designers set the platform for the coming generations. And now the third generation of fashion designers is taking the legacy forward with experimental designs. They are exploring the potential of various segments of fashion. Designers like Aneeth Arora, Shivam Naresh are adding a new dimension to the industry. We are only getting bigger, better and stronger with each passing season.

Master Chef
Apple-Dapple!
Kandla Nijhowne

No dear readers, I'm not indulging in kindergarten gibberish! Apple-Dapple is not toddler-talk. It’s actually the name of a popular cake, moist, fragrant and studded with apple chunks! A buttery brown caramel sauce is poured over the cake and allowed to soak in before removing the cake from the pan, it is by far the moistest cake I’ve ever baked. If you’ve ever wanted to win someone over through their stomach, this cake is the one!

Apple-dapple cake
For sauce

* ¾ cup butter

* 1½ cups brown sugar

* ¾ tsp salt

* 1½ vanilla

* ¾ cup cream

For cake

* 2½ cups chopped apples

* ½ cup butter

* 1 cup grain sugar

* 1 egg

* 1 tsp baking soda

* ¼ tsp salt

* 1 tsp ground cinnamon

* 1 tsp grated nutmeg

* 1 cup maida

* ½ cup walnut bits

Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat the butter and sugar till pale and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Sieve together the maida, baking soda, salt and spices. Blend the dry ingredients into the eggs and butter. Stir in the apples and nuts. Pour into an oiled 9 inch round cake pan and bake for 30 minutes or until the top springs back when touched lightly in the centre. In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring with a whisk, then remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla and the cream. Traditionally, the hot sauce is poured over the still warm cake but you can serve it on the side in a bowl too. Let everyone pour sauce over their own wedge of apple-dapple delight!

stress buster
Meditation marvels
Renee Singh

We are living in stressful times and are swallowing outrage and frustration caused by unfair situations and irrational superiors. This is because we can't let go of either the situation or the people concerned. In short we can neither afford to lose our job nor can we let go of certain relationships.

Outside strains like these are called stressors. Some people have the capacity to retain a level of calm in any situation. That is the way they are built. While there are others who accumulate stress over every little situation and require help to sort it out.

One great way of getting rid of these stressors is meditation. It is one of the most inexpensive and best ways of releasing stress and has far- reaching effects if practised regularly. Some meditations bring about small changes in a person, others might bring huge benefits. Overall they help one build a lasting resilience towards stress. The more regularly you meditate the less reactive you become to stress.

Benefits of meditation

n Slowed heart rate

n Release of physical tension

n A breather from stress

n A calmer mood afterwards

n Less reactivity towards stress

n Lower blood pressure

n Clarity towards life

n Greater resilience to stress

Types of meditation

Two main methods of meditation are:

Concentration method

This involves concentrating deeply on one focal point. Beginners find this easy to learn and practice.

Non-concentrative method

This involves different points of focus and deep non-judgmental concentration.

Some methods can fit into both categories, but one must try several types of meditation to see what suits you the most.

Breathing meditation

This involves focusing on one’s breathing in a well-defined manner.

Visualisation practice

This is a great way to meditate by visualising an object or scenery you want to focus on.

Aromatherapy meditation

This gives you a double benefit. One aspect is that the aroma calms the person. Also, this kind of therapy brings in other benefits which can be very relaxing.

Mantra meditation

Repeating a mantra creates a relaxing vibration. You can always try and see if it suits you.

Music meditation

This calms down a person and also deepens the experience of meditation.

Chocolate meditation

This is a novel experience. Keep some chocolate in your mouth and concentrate on eating it in an enjoyable manner.

Bath meditation

This is again naturally relaxing. You can either soak yourself in a tub of warm water or else a refreshing shower is a great relaxant.

Mindfulness exercises:

These can be done anywhere provided you have a congenial environment and can muster up a deep level of concentration. This way of meditation can be virtually incorporated into any activity.

Wear your confidence

It is the stylish look that makes one stand out in a group, which may not be ‘brand’ induced or due to inherent good looks but the attitude which one adopts. It may also be just the smart coordination of clothes which does the trick. Ashmeet Arora, a student of journalism and mass communication, talks of her style quotient—

Your sense of style…

The dressing sense of anybody denotes style only if it is carried well. Also for me style is bespoken by the manner in which anybody talks or converses.

Latest addition to your treasure of clothing or accessories…

A pair of stilettos from Feragamo brand.

Crazy or street pick-up?

A wise combination of both.

Your style icon would be…

Sonam Kapoor is my ideal in terms of dressing!

Who do you think is the worst-dressed celebrity?

Ekta Kapoor.

Which look would your prefer – sporty, chic or glamorous?

Glamorous any day!

One fashion trend that goes beyond your comprehension….

Spaghetti and tube tops somehow don’t look aesthetic.

Your take on accessories?

A variety of neck pieces, belts and watches are my treasured possessions!

Given a choice, which designer you would like to be dressed by?

Manish Malhotra any day!

 Santokh Singh Hero se tu kam na lagta
Thara look boy tera killer
Tom Cruise aur Johnny Depp
Tera aage chiller…
…are some lines from the recent song Baith Pajero main that’s rocking the charts.

Says composer-singer Santokh Singh, “I love experimenting with genres and languages in my music.” Santokh debuted independently with Jaspinder Narula’s album Sanwaria. Channa Vey followed and it’s been a decade for him in Mumbai now.

The recent hit Baith Pajero main is Santokh’s attempt at creating something typical to Delhi, as demanded by the situation in the film. “I wanted to create something new, something sharabi here. I have used typical Haryanvi accent in this one,” says Santokh, who loves bringing cultural diversity in his creations.

In his career in Mumbai, Santokh has to his credit many films and albums spread over different genres, but this singer-composer is busy studying music further. Classical music, Indian as well as western, draws Santokh; in fact, he is pursuing Masters in Western classic vocal and piano.

An industry full of talented artistes keeps him motivated; AR Rahman, Preetam and Ilayaraja inspire him the most. “Each day is a new learning experience. One learns from old and new alike,” he says.

His upcoming films as music director are Lucky Kabootar and Golu Pappu. “I always knew music is the field that I want to work in right from my childhood,” says this composer, originally from Rajasthan. And music is what he wants to breathe till he lives!

Samir Soni who plays Kunal in Colors Parichay is happy to play an important role in the show.

How do you look at the leap in show?

It came at a good time as we had brought the story to a point where a leap was a good decision. With a leap you can bring in new elements with the same characters which make for good drama.

You seem too happy playing such an important role in Parichay…

Yes. Television shows are usually about women and stories revolving around them. In shows like Parichay, men too get a good amount of importance. Otherwise almost all shows are sold through a woman and her problems. I think men are now getting their due on TV.

How is it playing a father on TV?

It is fun and challenging. The kids are amazing. In fact I love the fact that my character calls his son Munnabhai.

Are you also thinking of planning a family?

Yes we are. It’s been a year since we’ve been married and we have been busy with work.

After films like Baghban and I Hate Love Storys would you be doing more projects?

Right now television is great and most satisfying. Surely it is more demanding than films but I also get immediate reactions from the audiences.

Do you also do theatre?

Yes. I have been doing a play with Mandira Bedi for eight years and I take a day off in a week for it. Doing a play is like being in another world.

Ashmit Patel Return of the dude
After a successful season last year, India’s hottest show on how to impress women Superdude is back on Bindass. Hosted by charismatic and suave Ashmit Patel, the show will feature 13 boys from different parts of the country who claim to be the coolest dudes of their city. They will get a chance to live in the ‘Superdude Mansion’ where they will be trained in the art of approaching and impressing women by their ‘guru’ Ashmit Patel. Assisting Ashmit in this task will be British Asian bombshell Sofia Hayat, who will ensure that the boys get a reality check on what girls really want. Co-hosting the show with Ashmit and also giving a women’s perspective to the 13 boys, will be Madhura Naik, a popular face on television. Superdude conducted a hunt across three cities – Chandigarh, Delhi and Mumbai that saw unprecedented response giving the judges a tough time in short-listing the final 13.

Once in the Superdude mansion, the final 13 contestants will be split into two groups – the good boys (the kind you can ‘take home to your mother’) and the bad boys (the kind who ‘you will want to meet, but your mother won’t’). The two groups will live in separate bedrooms in the Superdude mansion, which will be designed keeping in mind their character, moods and tastes. The good boys and the bad boys will compete with each other in various tasks which would test their skills in making an impression on girls, be it striking a conversation with a girl at a bar or impressing her with their chivalry. Apart from contesting in these tasks, the 13 dudes will also have to impress Madhura. Their success in this will help them gain access to luxurious amenities in the house.

Nivin Ramani Ahead of time…
Young and talented Nivin Ramani, who was last seen in Fear Files, will now be seen playing a pivotal role in Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein on Zee TV. Everyone in the Mrs Kaushik family will move forward in age and the story will take off to the year 2030, thanks to Lovely (Ragini Nandwani) getting into a Time Machine. Now, post the jump, kids in the show will grow up. This is where Nivin enters the picture. He will be essaying the role of a naughty teenager, Anu. He will be the son of Shivendu (Gavie Chahal) and Karantiya Kaushik (Divjot Sabarwal).

Rashmi Desai Tapasya makes a comeback
Rashmi Desai has confirmed that she is going to make a comeback in Uttaran. Here is some exclusive news on what her character will be like this time. Rashmi, who was earlier seen in the show as Tapasya, had quit the project as she was to get married to Nandish Sandhu. At the same time, the show also to took a leap. And Rashmi did not want to play a mother to somebody of her own age. Hence, she made an exit from the show. But, now she is back. According to a reliable source, the production house had been trying to get Rashmi back in the show for quite some time, but the actress was not ready for it, but now she has signed a contract. If sources are to be believed, the characteristics of Tapasya will remain the same. She has overcome the entire Veer (Vikas Bhalla) and Ichcha (Tina Dutta) episode. But this time around, she will make living difficult for the Bundelas.

Kunal Karan Kapoor In sickness and health
Kunal Karan Kapoor, better known as Mohan of Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, has proved that he is a thorough professional. Kunal realised that he was suffering from dengue fever after a few tests. He was advised rest, but he continued shooting knowing very well that the show was to be wrapped up.
