12-year-old boy goes missing, returns home in the evening

A 12-year-old boy, who left for the school this morning and went missing under mysterious circumstances, was spotted in the Jamalpur area following a day-long drama this evening.

Labourers at work on the Sidhwan Canal bridge One side of the Sidhwan Canal bridge on Ferozepur Road will be closed for vehicular traffic for five-and-half hours tomorrow on trial basis. If the plan works out well, this side of the bridge will be closed for three months. The bridge (for traffic going towards Ferozepur) will remain closed from 9 am to 11 am, 4 pm to 6 pm and 7 30 pm to 9 pm for the construction of an underpass for the Sidhwan Canal Expressway project.

The Punjab Government will set up an adoption agency and a children home in the every district of the state to facilitate adoption of orphan and deserted children. Out of Rs 19 crore, which will be spent on the scheme, Rs 9 crore had already been sanctioned.
