Intoxicants seized: The Phagwara police arrested four persons, identified as Chetan Kumar and Love Kumar of Hadiabad, Hussan Lal of Kherra Colony and Sukhdev Singh of Dosanjh Kalan, with 15 g of heroin and 3,900 intoxicating capsules. 

3 fall unconscious: Three persons fell unconscious while spraying insecticide in the fields in two different incidents in Palahai and Jagpaulpur village last evening.

3 robbed of cash: Two motorcycle-borne youths looted three persons near Goraya on Sunday night. The robbers looted Rs 2,100 and a wrist watch from Ravi Kumar on Garha Road. Then they snatched gold earrings from Parveen Kumari on Barra Pind road. Lastly, the looters snatched Rs 1800 from Salinder Singh on Atta Road. The police has registered a case.

Signboards removed: The enforcement wing of municipal corporation today removed 60 signboards and hoardings under Section 5 of the Chandigarh Advertisement Control Order, 1954, displayed by shopkeepers in the market area of Sector 7, Madhya Marg. The drive was carried out on the directions of MC Commissioner VP Singh.

Cabinet records to be digitised:The state government has set in motion the process of digitisation of Cabinet records. The government has constituted a high-level project execution committee of five administrative officers. They have been authorised to invite quotations from empanelled vendors of the Information Department for the digitisation of Cabinet records in the General Administration Department and finalise the contract rate.

Man commits suicide:Navin Kumar, 23, a resident of Harbajwala, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house today. The deceased, son of Prem Kumar, an ex-serviceman, was in bad company and was put behind bars a few months ago on the charge of stealing. 

Best all-round badminton player award given to Kuho:The12th Sub Junior State Badminton Championship was held at City Sports Complex in Haridwar today. Kuho, player from Nainital, beat Akshita of Almora 21- 15 and 21- 17 in the under-15 girls' singles final. He got the Best all-round player award .
