DMRC official visits Metro sites
Ludhiana, August 27
In a bid to sort out minor hassles in the way of acquisition of land and to finalise the detailed project report for the proposed Metro rail project in the city, RG Sharma, Assistant General Manager of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the official consultant for the project, today visited 10 sites on corridor one (Ayali to the BBMB powerhouse, Jamalpur).

MC pulls down illegal structure

A team of officials of the building branch of the local municipal corporation (MC) today pulled down an illegal structure being brought up on the "projection" of a commercial building in the Model Gram locality here. The owner of the shop was warned against carrying out any unauthorised extension of the shop.

2 murders rock city
Ludhiana, August 27
Two murders have been reported from the city. A 40-year-old rickshawpuller, identified as Amarjit Singh, alias Bobby, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Model Town Extension, was found dead near the Inter-State Bus Terminus here this morning.
