Hoshiarpur Woman ends life; two booked: Allegedly tortured at the hands of her husband Pawanjit Singh of Dashmesh Nagar, Tanda, and her in-laws, for not bearing a male child, Sulekha Rani of Harmoe village allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the evening on Tuesday. Married for eight years, Sulekha was mother of two daughters. The police has booked her husband Pawanjit Singh, and her brother-in-law Sarabjit Singh under Sections 306 and 34 of the
IPC. One held for rape bid: Chabbewal police has arrested Jagdish Rai of Lehli Kalan under Sections 376, 506 and 511 of the IPC allegedly for attempting to rape of woman of his village.
The victim alleged that she was washing utensils at her house in the evening on July 24 when the accused Jagdish Rai came and tried to rape her.
