Woman held under NDPS Act: The Sadar Malout police today claimed to have arrested a woman and recovered eight kg of poppy husk from her possession. The police said Ravi, wife of Harpal Ram and a resident of Jhurar village, was arrested during a routine checking. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered.

Youth injured: Abhi (18) of Paniyara falling under Indora police station fell from the Pathankot-Jogindernagar train running between Nagrota Bagwan and Kangra Mandir railway station today, the Railway police said. It could not be established yet what the reason of his fall was. Abhi, in an injured condition, was rushed to a Nagrota Bagwan hospital from where he was referred to the DRPGMC, Tanda.

Barber found hanging: Shamshad Ahmad, 40, barber, was found hanging at his house at Chukhuwala yesterday. His wife told the police that he was upset for not being able to pay back the debts. He belonged to Roorkee.
