SGPC writes to PM on corridor: The SGPC on Tuesday wrote to the Prime Minister demanding prompt and concrete steps to provide a corridor between Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan to enable devotees to pay obeisance at the Pakistan shrine and return the same day without passport and visa. SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said: "The distance between Dera Baba Nanak and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib is hardly 3 km. The devotees cherish to offer prayers at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib and they walk to the border from where they can see the shrine in Pakistan, but the fence and the human wall of security personnel hinder their way."
